Hello my dedicated friends!

I'm supposed to be studying right now so i'll just quickly roll out what i have so far =)

First, my stuff with Tim and our pigeon =)
this is inspired by Rene Magritte's The Man in the Bowler Hat

This is a work about people being consumed by their trivial problems, bit of tongue in cheek =)
Thanks to Scarlet and Chris for modeling (don't they look so pretty? =P).

A work that got me a D at uni (was printed A1 for $85 T_T)

Here's an installation that I helped my friend Jae-Hee construct today, it took forever and it's still not done =(
but we'll be back to finish it after exams (so long as no one removes it)!!! =D

Yeah, things have been pretty hectic over the last few weeks, hence the lack of posts from me.

I've only got a few things to show you now as most of my photographing time is spent on uni projects lately.
Soon there will be my own stuff so don't fret =)

Lovely Grace as my model and a loaned 50mm from my homie David.

I'm hoping to purchase some new lenses shortly, but I'm waiting for stinky Canon to announce the release of the 24-70mm f/2.8 L IS USM.
After that depending on the price I'll either get the MkI or the MkII 24-70mm and I'm also planning to get a 50mm f/1.4 and an extra battery for my 5D MkII XD
Did I tell you I got my 5D MkII?? =D
Coz I did.

Can't wait to finish uni so I can take a million photos to show you all ^___^
Til i next have some spare time (I should be studying now actually =$) stay well and be safe =)

There were massive mishaps with models and makeup artists for this shoot with the makeup artist bailing less than 12 hours before the shoot and 3 models dropping out within under 24 hours prior to the shoot, and it looked like rain the whole time we were getting ready; but trust in the Sun and Rain Gods paid off and we got some beautiful sunshine and pouring rain once we'd gotten home at the end of the day!

Just goes to show that if you stay focused on the positive then you can still rock hardcore!

I know i've been saying that for awhile now, but we're just ironing out some minor glitches and getting our content ready for upload.

Business cards are on the way too =)

Hopefully we can start making some money soon coz i really need it =(

We wanted to get out into the sunshine!
So after gettin the bikes out, then pumping up the tyres and waiting for Jesse to re-familiarise himself with a bicycle we set off to Tim's house!
Once there we met up with Timbo and headed down to the local industrial zone and started exploring!
While we were exploring we started mucking around with our camera gear and got some pretty cool shots - check em out and let me know what you think =)

This shot is a bit soft but I still like it ^__^

Photomedia: Project 4; Semester 1, 2009

Well boys and girls! A glimpse at one of two projects I completed this weekend for uni.
This one is about time or some rubbish, but really is an excuse for me to do some wicked stuff with some lights and some talented people.

Really annoyed at myself for not paying enough attention during the shoot and chopping off Warrick's feet, but I think it still works rather well.

Big thanks to the lovely and talented Naomi who when she was not doing infinite fouettes or leaping her to there was walking around on her tiptoes or learning some cool bboy moves =D

Mad props also to Warrick, an awesome tricker who managed to do crazy combos of back saults, twists and flips in the dark with lights flashing and blinding him.

Without either of them this project would not have been possible and I am very thankful =)

This is the first project of the semester that has been enjoyable, interesting and challenging in a non-excruciating way.
I do not feel any pangs of resentment in paying for the prints of these images, which hasn't been a common thing this semester. =D

May's Uni Project

Here's the work I did for my last uni project. The concept was on "Time and Place".
This collection was a look at the memories of times in our lives that we are reminded of when we re-visit the places that they happened.

Besides some colour correction, none of these images have been altered.

Big ups to my lovely models Katherine and Grace; and the other models who aren't as lovely but still beautiful in their own right, Tim, Jesse, David, and William for helping out =)

FINALLY I HAVE ROOM TO UPLOAD ON FLICKR!

When i get some more cash i will upgrade my account =)

Also, exciting news!
Just bought my ticket to Asia!! At the end of the year i'll be hitting up Taiwan, South Korea, Hong Kong and Japan with some homies =)
Hopefully will score some lovely pics =D

Feather Photography and Design Logo Complete!

Yes, yes y'all!
It's been in the works for a couple of months now, Tim, Grace, William and myself have been bouncing ideas back and forth to try to come up with a logo and a logotype to represent us and Feather to the public. Finally we're completed it and I am now extremely proud to bring you the new logo and logotype of Feather Photography and Design ©

I'm not sure if it's a good or bad thing or neither, but you dear reader might also draw a similarity between our logo and those of some Adobe products. However in all honesty we took no inspiration from Adobe in our design and only realised the similarities upon completing the logo. With a feather though, anything vectored would draw reminders of the CS2 logo, that can't be helped. And the F was taken from our logotype so I think it's quite justified =)
Either way, every single aspect of our logo and logotype originates solely from our own imaginations.

For this shot I was trying out a technique I learned from my mate Jimmy (check him out here: http://astarphotos.blogspot.com/ ) with a few of my own ideas thrown in - just a bit of mucking around really.

These next few shots were taken at the end of a shoot for a uni project with my friend William (aka Humga). We were just playing around with some frozen motion stuff. (Let me tell you, as cool as my shoes are they really suck for landing jumps in.)

Earlier in the day there was a wonderful breeze blowing through that provided us with some awesome shots of my friend Grace in her dress.
(Personally, I love windy days.)

This shot is simply a little play around with my homemade snoot. Unfortunately I'm too poor at the moment to be able to afford Pocket Wizards so it's just a lame mounted flash for me for now.

And I'm still keeping up my portrait practicing - gotta impress them potential clients right?! ;D

Playing With Studio Lighting (2009.04.11)

My mate Humga borrowed some studio lights from uni so we trotted along to David's house and took some photos!
Mostly playing around with lighting and then some fast-shutter work

and Sarah for the modeling!

Sarah is a hairdresser who's aspiring to be THE GREATEST EVER up-stylist for weddings and all that jazz, so holler if u want to get ur hair did

Updates for Feather Photography and Design:
We've sourced another man to get our website up as the last one was rather difficult to contact.
Our mate Michael says he can have our site up and running within two weeks so hopefully there will be no dramas and that will be the case =)
Once the site is up, we'll get our business cards made up and REALLY begin pushing our business.

in the end just tried to work on my portrait shots... they still need work...

Royal National Park (14.07,08)

Well this was the first planned group photography expedition.
Brothers Tim and Humga came along as well as the gals Sarah and Terri la =)

As the title suggests these shots were taken down at the Royal National Park in NSW, Australia; technically the first and thus oldest national park in the world. It was a nice sunny day after a threatening sky in the morning, but unfortunately the wildlife didnt show up and our trek through the rainforest was mostly disappointing and scary as we werent sure if we were lost as the sun set and paranoia set in.

Anyway enough talk; here's the pics:
